How does a chance to visit 102 of San Angelo's Businesses all in one day sound? Well, that is what you can expect to do Tuesday at the Wells Fargo Pavilion as the Business Showcase; "Around the World" comes to town.

“They can come walk around exchange business cards and do some networking and have more customers and hopefully make some contacts that will be profitable to them,” says event coordinator of the event.

16 years ago that was the idea of The San Angelo Chamber of Commerce, to give businesses in this city a chance to showcase their services with other citizens. And since then that is what it has accomplished for these organizations.

Kay Towery, Economic Development Specialist says, "It's helped their business, it's just to show people what we have, a lot of the businesses take orders and I have them tell me that they work the orders as much as 6 months to a year after the show."

On Monday, these 102 exhibitors began to roll in their services and information into the Wells Fargo Pavilion as they began to prepare for this one day of business that makes an impressive impact.

"It brings them all to them for one day, where it would be hard to make contacts 2500 contacts in a month especially if they have to go leave their business to go do it,” says event coordinator.

So whether you make a trip "Around the World" on Tuesday or around the "Wells Fargo Pavilion", organizers hope that this showcase allows the public and businesses to see the wonders that lie within the city.

“You know the city of San Angelo has a booth out here and they have a message to get out as well. The hospitals are large employers and we have small business owners that will be out here, wanting to get their face and business name out there,” says event coordinator.

If you plan on going to Tuesday’s event the showcase begins at 11 AM and runs thru 6 PM at the Wells Fargo Pavilion. Tickets are $2 at the door or you can stop by the Chamber of Commerce office and receive complimentary tickets on Tuesday morning. There will also be a silent auction, with proceeds benefiting various San Angelo Chamber of Commerce programs.
