Volunteer Of The Week

By: KSAN News Staff
Updated: September 26, 2007
Every Wednesday we take a moment to recognize a San Angeloan whose day to day activities are geared towards helping others in our community. In this week's Volunteer Of The Week we meet a local woman who has been volunteering since 2004.
Rachel Baring has been a volunteer with the Tom Green County Sheriff's Crisis Intervention Unit for the past three years. The unit is a "1st responder" group that is called out on the request of law enforcement officers. Volunteers like Baring respond to help the victims of local crimes and intercede on their behalf. Congratulations Rachel Baring, you are this week's KSAN Volunteer Of The Week.
If you would like to volunteer with the Tom Green County Sheriff's Crisis Intervention Unit, a new volunteer training starts Saturday, September 29, 2007. You must be at least 18 years old and pass a background check in order to qualify for the training. For more information log onto www.Ciucares.Com
