You see them blowing around on the side of the road, scattered in parking lots and filling up our nation's land fills... those plastic shopping bags. Saturday one man will try to change that.

The world's first bagonaut will be at Sam's Club Saturday for the Big Bag Event. Egan Sanders will be dropped into the world's largest canvas shopping bag at noon and stay there for 24 hours. This is an effort to raise awareness about the environmental impact of using plastic shopping bags. Sanders hopes his drop will encourage residents to shop with re-useable bags instead of plastic bags, as well as establish earth friendly habits like recycling.

During the Big Bag Event, there will also be a food drive for the Concho Valley Regional Food Bank. Residents are asked to bring non-preshible food items only. Anyone donating food Saturday will receive a free re-useable shopping bag.
