Labor day weekend will be the last time to see the Bob Johnston saddle display at Fort Concho. The collection of saddles, boots and other items belonged to native San Angelo rancher Bob Johnstron -- who acquired most of the collection during his time as a rancher in Colorado. Johnstons niece, Joan Mertz put together the exhibit at Fort Concho in the Quartermaster building. "Cowboy stuff is fun even if you are not from Texas you have a little bit of cowboy in you and this is a great way to see various cowboy tools and to see how the cowboys used them." You can see the exhibit at Fort Concho during extended hours Friday and Saturday from ten until four....and then on Sunday, September second from 1:30 until 4:30. Admission is free.
