Water Rescues in San Angelo

Rescue crews in San Angelo spent the night helping motorists from their vehicles due to flooding.Fire crews and the police department were stretched thin Friday night due to water rescues. One rescue happened around 2am on Sull Ross and Vista Del Arroyo. Two people were rescued from a suburban that was in the middle of the road where the red arroyo was cresting. No one was seriously injured.
Another rescue took place about an hour later at Jackson Street and Foster Road. When first responders arrived, no one was found inside the truck. However at the same location another vehicle was found. The two occupants were able to escape on their own but were trapped on the other side of the flood waters. Batallion Chief Ricky Long said there were at least nine cars in flooding waters across the city. No word on any serious injuries.
