Town Meeting with Congressman Mike Conaway

During the summer recess this week -- 11th district congressman Mike Conaway is talking with constituents across the Concho Valley.
ΒΆ Conaway led a town hall meeting at Angelo State University Thursday evening to talk about some of the legislation up for debate this session in Washington which includes continued funding for the war in Iraq -- and whether the war is creating a drain on manpower for some positions like police departments.
"But there is a bigger competition, with jobs that pay more. Ask any police department in district 11 and its not so much folks going into the military, but going into the oil rigs because you can make more money, a lot more money. "
Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison is scheduled to be in San Angelo for a town hall breakfast at the River Terrace club.
