Traffic was backed up near the 5000 block of Houston Harte just before one o'clock Monday afternoon. An auto accident started unfolding when a work crew with TX-DOT stopped to pick up a BBQ grill cover that had somehow ended up in the middle of the road. A driver traveling on the Houston Harte came upon the sluggish traffic, went off of the road and then overcorrected. This move sent the driver skidding out of control, hitting a road sign. The driver was transported to community medical center and was also cited for unsafe speed.
