It was just after 3:30 Thursday afternoon when local fire crews were called out to a house fire on Briar Grove Street in San Angelo. The owner of the home discovered the fire and called 911. Fearing that his wife and children were inside, the home owner tried to rush into the burning house. No one was inside the home when the fire broke out, but the home owner was injured while attempting the search. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Firefighters were able to put out the fire, but the house suffered extensive smoke damage. The cause of this fire is still under investigation.
