Negotiations continue between San Angelo police and city officials. Earlier this year, city council members voted to give salary and other policy negotiating power to members of a local police association -or- union. Representatives of the San Angelo Coalition of Police met with city officials and Bettye Lynn from Fort Worth Monday. She is the labor attorney hired by the city to negotiate with members of SACOP. Monday association members talked about police department hiring policies. Both sides agreed tentatively to get together for their next meeting, Tuesday, august 14th. The meet and confer committee meetings are open to the public.
