A San Angelo police officer was treated Thursday evening for injuries after laying over his motorcycle in a southwest San Angelo intersection.

According to the police report -- officer Jon Gann was driving west on sunset about 12:30 as a driver in a ford pickup was stopped at a stop sign on Forest Trail. The driver told police he did not see any cross traffic approaching the intersection and stopped before colliding with the officer. Officer Gann's motorcycle hit the ground and skidded about 75 feet.

Gann went to Shannon medical center with non life-threatening injuries. Police cited the pickup driver for failing to yield the right of way.
