Child Sexually Assaulted

A Tom Green County jury found an Oklahoma man guilty of sexually assaulting a child Friday. 43 year old Richard Vernon Amendt was sentenced to 25 years on two charges of aggravated sexual assault of child. Assistant District Attorney Allison Palmer says Amendt engaged in anal and oral sex with the then, five year old victim for two years.
Palmer says the nature of cases involving sexual abuse to a child are very similar, normally beginning with someone close to the victim.
Amendt will serve two 25 year sentences concurrently, as well as having to pay a fine up to $10,000.
