The D.P.S. increased patrols in the hopes of cracking down on D.W.I's this traveling season. The increased patrols began on March 8th and will continue through the 17th.

This effort is funded through a grant from the Texas Department of Transportation and the enhanced patrols are designed target intoxicated drivers.

During last year's spring break enforcement period, D.P.S troopers made more than 1,000 D-W-I arrests, issued more than 9,400 speeding citations, and 12,500 various other traffic citations.
