Library Fund Gets Hefty Donation

A local request for funding for the Tom Green county library renovation project has turned into a 100-thousand dollar donation from A-E-P electric. This week, A-E-Ps Fred Hernandez gave "Beacon to the Future" committee members a check for 50-thousand dollars. Hernandez says his company will donate another 50-thousand dollars next year for a total of 100-thousand. The fundraising goal on the project is about 18 million dollars....committee members say they need another five million dollars.
