San Angelo, TX--Everyday inside Cornerstone Christian's gym, Arlen White holds court, the high school coaching legend is back from a brief break to teach this generation the game of basketball.

"I loved it, and I still love it," Arlen White said.

White helps coach the Lions at the Junior High and Varsity levels, and it still gives him a rush.

"I still get nervous before a ball-game," White said.  "In fact, I still hate to lose, I still rejoice when I win."

However, White's enjoyment of coaching stretches beyond the final score.

"There's just something about seeing people improve, young people get better, with a confidence and a twinkle in their eye, that you just long for and work for," White explains.

Arlen White has won over 600 games in his illustrious 25 year career and he's bringing the winning attitude and style to Cornerstone.

"I like to push the ball, I like to run the fastbreak," White explains. "I like to see the three-on-two, two-on-one, I like to see us pull up and take the jump shot."

White also does his part off the court, traveling with a group around the country and helping families deal with the aftermath of major natural disasters.

"There's something about handing a person, that lost everything in his house, been washed out, blown out, burned out, that you could give him a hot meal and say 'this is what God said, feed my people' and it's a great joy to me, it's my mission."

Arlen White spent the majority of his career coaching at Crane and Sands High Schools.
