A broken water main caused headaches for school administrators and parents today.
Students were sent home after the line burst.
San Angelo school official's electricity had to be cut off to the Bowie elementary campus before workers could start repairs and because of that parents were called to pick up their children. The water line break was right next to the school's electrical power supply. Tonight the main has been repaired and Bowie elementary regular schedule will resume tomorrow.
A crack in the pavement on Johnson Street today appears to be related to a water line break.
It happened in front of the Verizon building also on Johnson Street. City work crews spent several hours repairing the water line. Workers say ground shifting after freezing water can cause lines to break.
"We are in the process of shutting it down from Princeton all the way to Douglas water will be down probably three or four hours once we get it off."
We're told the break did not significantly impact service today to residents in the area.
