For A Small Business Owner An Emergency Can Be Defined As Something As Common As A Computer Crash To Interruption In Electrical Service. At A Workshop In San Angelo Small Business Owners Learned How Preparing For The Small Problems Help When A Big Disaster Comes Along. This Was A Day For Small Business Operators To Consider The Question What Could Go Wrong? Emergency Preparedness Was The Topic Of This Workshop At The West Texas Training Center. Keynote Speaker Donna Childs Knows Disaster First-Hand. She Was Inside The World Trade Center When The First Plane Hit On September 11th. Childs Understands Operating A Business In Less Than Ideal Circumstances And Advises Business People Instead Of Trying To Prepare For One Major Catastrophic Event To Instead Have A Backup Plan For The More Predictable Problems For Instance, Loss Of Computer Data Or Loss Of Utilities. The Small Business Development Center Sponsored This Workshop. Theyre Hoping That This Will Give Local Businesses A Reason To Prepare For The Worst Before It Happens.
