Huge Turnout at the Gun and Blade Show

The new popular thing to do is go to a gun show, many states have reported large turn outs, and it was no different for this weekends Gun and Blade show here in San Angelo.

    Kim Sansom - "We have never seen a crowd like that in San Angelo."

    Generally when there is any type of talk about guns in the news or Congress looking to pass new gun laws there is a mad dash to local gun shops or gun shows to pick up those guns that could end up off store shelves.

A vendor at San Angelo's Gun and Blade show who generally takes up six tables was heavily reduced in less than an hour.

Kim Sansom - "they sold all of their  AR's within the first fifteen minutes of the show."

    But the talk at the show wasn't about the sells... that part was expected....What many walked away talking about was how high the prices have gone for those guns that could face being banned.

Michael Butler - "Well you know your more classical hand guns that aren't threatened by the potential bans are actually cheaper than usual, they are reasonable. But all the weapons that are potentially going to be banned are sky rocketing, tripled or four times more than the last gun show.  If someone is scared they aren't going to be able to buy something, supply and demand, they are afraid they aren't going to be able to supply for the demand."

Kim Sansom - "As the venders are not going to be able to replace all of the items, and ammo they are selling, the prices go up."

    With 24 years of organizing the Gun and Blade show in San Angelo - Sansom said this month was more than doubled what she generally sees in the Concho Valley - with people coming in from all directions within a 200 mile radius.
