In a few months -- San Angelo police officers will be driving more than a dozen new Chevrolet Tahoes.

Council members approved the purchase 13 of the new vehicles today; Chief Tim Vasquez says the base cost is about 45-hundred dollars more for each vehicle than the present dodge chargers.

"Where we might only pull fifteen hundred on a Charger or Crown Vic that we send to auction we could be pulling forty five to hopefully six thousand dollars back on those Tahoes after we use them. The fuel efficiency you know I think you were looking at 9.5 or something like that for the Chargers, and ten point one for the Tahoes."

Also today -- council members approved a lease for the San Angelo Bandit's indoor football team... for games this year,

2014...and...2015.

March first is the effective date for the lease and the season continues through June with six home games.
