Contestants had until December fourth to enter and turned in their final projects this morning.
Judging began at about 2-30 today and the judges had more than forty entries to critique. The contest has several different and rather unique takes on the traditional gingerbread house. With a theme of "houses" this year - people got pretty creative
The Children's Advocacy Center took a trip to the Outback today. Outback Steakhouse that is. To collect toys for their clients. The organization helps aide children all over the Concho Valley who have been abused or neglected. The toys have been collected throughout the holiday season - they'll go to children who have been placed in temporary or foster homes. People brought in smaller items today - while toys for tots offered larger gifts - like the bicycles and skate boards.
Monica Elrod spoke with us about what these toys mean to the children and how they help the kids get back into a routine as well as giving them something to look forward to.
Over one thousand students got the chance to have a Christmas party on the Polar Express over the past three days. The House of Faith annual Christmas parties were held at the Christian Church of San Angelo.
The parties hosted students from five elementary schools in the Concho Valley and those who attend the Backyard Bible Club.
The theme for this year's celebration was "The Polar Express" and featured custom built sets, skits, games and teaching time. The children who participated recieved gifts that were sponsored and purchased by various individuals, church groups and businesses.
