The San Angelo School Districts Summer Lunch Program Begins Tuesaday, June Fifth.
Every Summer, San Angelo School Cafeteria Workers Provide Meals For School Children Ages One To 18.
this Summers Meal Program Begins Next Week And Runs Through June 29Th.
Its Free For Any San Angelo Student.....And All They Have To Do Is Go To One Of The School Locations Each Day For Lunch..
Betty Teston, an SAISD Nutritionist said, "Well We Run The National School Lunch Program, Breakfast And Lunch Program In The School Year And This Is Kind Of A Continuation Of That Federal Program. So, You Know, Dont Let Hunger Take A Break From The Summer. And We Want To Be Able To Provide This Meal. Its Free For Kids Ages One To Eighteen. Theres No Application Whereas During The School Year You Have To Fill Out An Applications And Go Through Some Of The Paperwork. But This Is A Free Program. Parents Or Whoevers Keeping The Kids In The Summer, Grandparents, Can Bring The Kids To Any Of These Feeding Sites. All They Have To Do Is Show Up And Well Privide Them With A Breakfast And Lunch Meal."
The Free San Angelo School Program Breakfast Sites Are: Austin, Belaire, Lamar Reagan And Rio Vista...Along With The Y-M-C-A Downtown...And Girls And Boys Club North.
