Thanksgiving Fun

For the third year now - miss Gonzalez' kindergarten class at Bradford Elementary baked pumpkin pies to be given to the residents at Baptist Retirement Community. Parents came up to lend a hand - keeping the 17 kindergarten students on task while making all the pies. Marcella Gonzalez believes the project taps in to a natural quality in young children - that just needs to be cultivated
The Society of Physics organization at Angelo State University rolled into the holiday season by helping several different groups today. The organization helped students earn extra credit in their physics classes - all while collecting canned food donations for the Concho Valley Regional Food Bank.
To earn extra credit - the students learned how to measure and conduct physics applications by rolling cans of food down a ramp and performing calculations. But according to members of the society - the students are learning about more than just measurements.
