Across the Concho Valley today -- people flew their flags to honor veterans of wars past and present.
These American flags waved in the wind at the Concho street bridge at Bryant across from the visitor's center.
At Lee Middle School today -- history students presented a veterans day assembly for all lee classes.
It included a slide show of faculty and students' family members who've served in the military.
Several years ago -- some personnel stationed at Goodfellow Air Force Base organized a paintball tournament to help families of special ops officers -- killed in action.
Now -- on Veterans Day every year they get together for the benefit.
Today veterans enjoyed a free lunch -- at Texas Roadhouse. Active duty and veterans had a free lunch as a thank you. San Angelo's roadhouse operator started the event last year -- and now other Texas Roadhouse restaurants participate.
The red white and you veterans job fair takes place on Thursday in San Angelo. The job fair is open to anyone -- but focused on returning veterans looking for jobs.
The Concho Valley Workforce Board will host the job fair in the fort Concho Commissary building Thursday, November 15th from two to six.
