Police Are Investigating Arson At Kirby Park After Vandals Torch The Restrooms. Lake And Park Patrol Police Officer Bruce Burkett Says Vandals Set The Restrooms Near The Skate Bowl On Fire Friday Night. Authorities Were Alerted To The Situation After A Cleaning Crew Discovered The Mess Saturday Morning.

This Is The Second Time This Month The Park's Restrooms Were Vandalized. Authorities Say Extensive Repair Work Will Have To Be Completed In Order To Get The Facility Back Open. Bruce Burkett/Asst. Police Chief Lake And Park Patrol says that it is Going To Involve Electrical Systems And Replacing Some Major Parts Inside Of The Building. 

"The Paper Towel Dispensers Are Very Expensive For This Building And So Are The Electrical Systems," Burkett said. "This Is Going To Be A Major Repair Officer Burkett Estimates About 5-Thousand Dollars Worth In Damage."

He Also Says Authorities Will Now Begin To Lock Up Park Facilities To Better Secure The Area Among Other Security Measures. Anyone With Information On The Kirby Park Vandalism Is Urged To Call 481-2617.
