59th Roping Fiesta

Today kicked off the fiesta with a tie down competition at the San Angelo fair grounds.
Around four hundred ropers are estimated to compete in this year's three day event - featuring tomorrow's big roping match between six time world champion Cody Ohl - and defending PRCA world tie-down champion Tuf Cooper.
There's a new event this year - called "the weigh in". It is being held at the buffalo social club and is free to the public.
Both Ohl and Cooper will address their strategies and what they do to prepare for match roping at tonight's weigh in.
A dance with music provided by Zach Edwards will immediately follow that event.
Earlier this afternoon however, we caught up with 15 year old Westyn Hughes.
He earned a spot in the roping tomorrow - and is the youngest to ever do so. He told us about some of his strategies he uses to prepare.
