Tom Green County Commissioner Yantis Green resigned this afternoon
He's expected to appear before a federal magistrate next week in Lubbock after admitting in a letter to his former employer that he misused a credit card from the county water control district.
Green managed the organization that distributes water for farmers. County judge Mike Brown says he'll make an announcement next week about whether he will immediately appoint a new commissioner to replace Green.
