Two Concho Valley residents died in separate traffic collisions today.
A 21-year-old San Angelo man died this afternoon about seven miles west of Mertzon -- near the gas plant on Highway 67.
State troopers say a driver in a tractor-trailer rig was turning into the plant when Derrick Sheppard's truck collided with the 18-wheeler.
Sheppard was driving a ford pickup and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 55-year-old Bronte woman died from injuries after being thrown out of her SUV on Highway 67 this morning.
State troopers say Juanita Smith was driving toward San Angelo about ten miles north of the city --  on Highway 67 when she swerved to avoid something in the road -- over corrected -- and rolled.
She was thrown from her vehicle -- and taken to Shannon Medical Center -- where she died a short time later.
