Chances of prostate cancer increase with increasing age, the older a man gets the higher chance prostate cancer is hidden within the prostate, there are a lot of men who have prostate cancer who never know they had it. Often it is a very slow moving cancer in certain individuals that is not universally true as some men that will die from prostate cancer and those are the ones we hope to catch before we find that they are in an incurable state
Men who have had a first degree relative who have had prostate cancer are at increased risk. Eating a low fat diet and taking menís vitamins will decrease your risk along with regular screening tests
The best way to detect prostate cancer in the early stages is examinations and lab test called a PSA. Most commonly men who are detected at the very early stage find that they feel fine. Their symptoms are non existent and they simply come to their healthcare provider and get a physical examination of their prostate and along with a PSA blood test often detected the Prostate Cancer at the early stages where it is potentially curable.
